the cloud, cloud computing, it services, it services jobs
The role of a computer support engineer is a tough one. It is a great career, one that can be tough on the brain, demand very long hours but it can also be one of the more satisfying career paths out there to take.
It has been taken for granted that there will always be a demand for IT engineers, but with the introduction of the cloud and cloud based services it will be interesting to see how the IT Sector will be affected. If everything moves to the cloud then how much IT support will actually be required? I think that tutoring services will always be required because people will always need to learn how to use software applications but with a cloud based solution, if something breaks then it is down to the hosting company to act, removing the need for an external support entity.
Hardware will always need to be supported in a work environment, however I can see more dumb terminals being used as the cloud becomes more popular. Add this to the fact that no internal server hardware will be required and you are looking at minimal IT Support requirements.
This in the long term could have a knock on effect to the industry. As it stands, there are many IT companies out there that are not very big, small start-up businesses created by engineers that want to go it alone. Give them a dose of internet marketing and they look the real deal. I foresee companies such as these being bought up by the more established IT Services companies out there, buying up the contracts and streamlining the businesses.
There is no doubt that the cloud is good for business as it can save them a lot of money by reducing support costs, energy costs and improving their infrastructure. However it could potentially coat a lot of jobs in the IT Services sector which will be a worry for many, and you can see why so many outsourcing companies out there are starting to invest in implementing cloud based solutions of their own.

If you’re thinking about buying an ultraportable… Ultra Thin Laptop, then the chances are you’ve come across a few models that don’t come with any optical drives included. On first glance, a laptop with no DVD drive may seem extremely limiting, but the truth is that there are many ways around it. Keep reading to find out more.
How To Get By Without An Internal Disc Drive
Gamers may be wary of buying a Ultra Thin Laptop with no optical drive for the simple fact that most games not only need to be installed from a disc, but they also require the disc to be inserted before they can be played. Have you checked to see whether there are any online versions of your game available? Services like Steam are all based on digital downloads, and most of the top titles are now being released in download-only format.
If you need to install software that isn’t available online, then you can also take advantage of other computers in your home network. For example, Apple’s Macbook Air comes with a feature that easily lets you access the optical drives of other Macs in your household as and when you need to. This means you’re limited to only using the drive when you’re at home, but it’s still a useful solution.
The other option is to buy an external DVD drive that plugs into your Ultra Thin Laptop via USB. These don’t require discs themselves to install and, once plugged in you’ll be able to watch DVDs, burn CDs or do anything else you normally would with a disc drive. These external options are very inexpensive, especially in proportion to the cost of an ultraportable laptop in the first place.
Should You Buy A Computer Without An Optical Drive?
As you can see, there are many ways to get around the issue of not having an optical drive, even if you do find that you need one at some point. However, the choice of whether to buy a laptop without a drive ultimately comes down to the way you will use it. If it’s going to be your main computer, do you need to read CDs and DVDs? If it’s not going to be your main computer, will you be happy using a different computer whenever you do need to read discs?
The truth is that technology is shifting towards completely digital media. Although a Ultra Thin Laptop doesn’t come with an optical drive as a space-saving measure, even desktop computers are now coming without optical drives purely because fewer and fewer of us are actually using them on a day to day basis.

Finding laser toner cartridges is easy in my town, but finding a good deal on laser toner cartridges is another story. I have been watching the advertisements for all the office stores and I have not seen a sale in months. I am always keeping my eyes open for a sale because we go through a lot of ink at my place of business. I want stock up for the next year. I need to get several laser toner cartridges to keep on hand.

So we are about to start SQL training with our department head this week. I hope that the classes are not too boring. I remember the last class that they had for hardware management. It was the instructors first time teaching the class and you could tell they really didn’t have a clue what they were doing. My department head by the end of it was doing most of the teaching it seems. I think that this time they really vetted the instructors.

I don’t have a Droid but if I did, can you guess which case I would be getting? You bet I would be getting an Otterbox Defender. They are so sleak and protective too. You can see different makes and models here Droid Otterbox. So, what other cases do you guys have? I would like to know. I hear Trident cases are making a pretty big push these days but so far haven’t been able to touch Otterbox. But then other people say that Trident is the next big thing and it is only a matter of time before they take out Otterbox. Some say it’s already happening. What do you guys think?
